Alfred E. Lindholm, age 83, of 142 Riverview Drive, Manitowoc, entered eternal life early Sunday morning, August 18, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
Al was born February 19, 1930 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Edward and Rose Stehula Lindholm. Al attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1948. After high school Al entered the United States Army and served overseas in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1952. After returning home from his military service he then went to work for Kerscher Metal Service and then V. J. Kerscher Company until his retirement in 1995. Al's greatest enjoyment was his envolvement with his grandchildren with their sporting events, musical concerts along with all of their school activities. On May 22, 1954 he married Donna Benfield at Wesley United Methodist Church in Manitowoc.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Donna; one son and daughter-in-law: William and Carol Lindholm, Manitowoc, WI; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Barbara and Jeff Schulz, Clarks Mills, WI; Ann and Randy Marx, Branch, WI; Lynn Schmoock, Manitowoc, WI; eight grandchildren: Carissa (Dan) Teaters, Breanna Lindholm, Amy (Eric) Teunissen, Ryan (Megan) Schulz, Callen and Miranda Marx, Courtney and Brandon Schmoock; four great grandchildren: Emlyn Teaters, Hailey, Karly, and Connor Teunissen; sister-in-law: Dorothy Graeger, Manitowoc, WI; brother-in-law: Kenneth Benfield, Manitowoc, WI; one brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Marion Lindholm, Manitowoc, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Rose Lindholm; son-in-law: David Schmoock; sister-in-law: Debora Benfield; brother-in-law: Ronald Graeger; niece: Linda Fiel; nephew: Ben Pyles.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Guy Corrigall with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
