Alice M. Sanderson, age 87, of 2014 Markham Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life early Saturday morning, March 19, 2011 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
Alice was born on December 25, 1923 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Geisler Kaufman. Alice was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. She was active with her husband Norman in his business, the Sanderson Tool Service in Manitowoc. On June 21, 1946 Alice married Norman "Sandy" Sanderson in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2001. Alice was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she also served as the Sunday School Teacher. She also was a long time volunteer and member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and past president of the auxiliary. Alice was also a local Girl Scout Leader in Manitowoc. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to the same card club for over 40 years. Alice had a passion for reading and sometimes read several books within a week. She also loved and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Scot and Cheryl Sanderson,
Evansville, Indiana; two daughters and one son-in-law: Susan Sanderson, Manitowoc, WI; Kay and Marty Bonk, Plymouth, WI; five grandchildren: Allison (Michael) Thomae, Aaron (Bethe) Bonk, Alex Bonk and special friend Rose Lau; Brittany and Jordan Sanderson; one great granddaughter: Mallory Thomae; one brother: George Kaufman, Manitowoc, WI; one sister-in-law: Donna Kaufman, Oshkosh, WI; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Louise Kaufman; husband: Sandy Sanderson; two brothers.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc, WI. Officiating will be Rev. Eric W. Kolonich with burial of the cremains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
