It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear Amber Kathleen Neumeyer, on October 14th, 2026: 43 years young of Manitowoc, WI. Born to Kathleen (Backus) and Joseph Neumeyer July 12, 1983. Amber had a quiet, gentle and observant way about her. She exuded loving curiosity and was the most caring person many have known. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She passed away peacefully in her sleep while on vacation with her parents. This time was spent doing two of her favorite things; traveling and spending time with family.
She graduated from Saint Gregory's Grade School, Valders High School, and Marian College where she majored in psychology. She also attended Lakeland College for a Masters program.
She brought such joy to her family and friends. Amber dearly loved her family and spent as much time with them as possible. Amber loved to travel and one of the highlights of her traveling was spending a college semester in Grantham, England at Harlaxton college. She also traveled to many other countries throughout Europe and many states, including Alaska as well as Florida where the highlight was swimming with dolphins, her favorite animal.
Amber had a great love of nature and loved exploring her parent's land. She enjoyed observing the changing seasons in the fields and forest. She was a great animal lover and had many guinea pigs over the years which she held dear to her heart.
Over the years she held different jobs, all of which she excelled at. People appreciated and respected her leadership and work ethic.
Amber was the best sister, aunt, daughter, friend anyone could ask for and is greatly missed.
Although earthside we miss her dearly we know that Amber is now in our Lord's arms and is finally eased of the pain she has stoically borne for the last several years.
Amber is survived by her parents, Kathleen (Backus) and Joseph Neumeyer; her siblings Sarah Neumeyer (nephew Joshua), Travis Neumeyer (Melissa) (niece Claire), and Courtney Neumeyer. Also by her, uncle Paul (godfather) (Sarah) Backus, aunt Kristine (James) Parkins; cousins, Valerie and Cole (Emily) Parkins, Jody (godmother) (Terry) Warren and countless friends. Amber is preceded in death by her uncle and aunt Larry and Jill Backus as well as her grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 4:00pm-7:00pm and continue Friday, October 23, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm followed by a funeral mass at 12:00pm. All will be held at Saint Gregory's Church, 212 Church Street, Saint Nazianz. A luncheon will follow the funeral service at Meats Opera House, St. Nazianz WI.
