Obituary

Anne Marie Ellig, age 95, a resident of Manitowoc, died on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Mary's Nursing Home at Felician Village in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Anne was born in Manitowoc on May 7, 1923 to the late Max and Veronica (Skladge) Jagodinsky. She was married to Richard L. Ellig on August 20, 1949, and they had two sons: Nicholas R. Ellig (Donna), Moorhead MN and Brian R. Ellig (Karol), Ballston Spa NY. Richard preceded her in death on August 13, 1987.  Anne was a graduate of Lincoln High School (1941) and Wood Business College (1943).  She was employed in the accounting office of the Manitowoc Company during the Second World War and later worked in the Register of Deeds Office at the Manitowoc County Court House.  Anne is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law; sister, Joan Doolan; brother-in-law, John Doolan; and nephew, Tom Doolan, all of Manitowoc; and also other members of her extended family.  Anne is also survived by her two special friends, Rose and Steve Vohwinkel of Manitowoc.  Anne was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and of the Catholic Women's Club.  She volunteered in many community organizations.  Anne was an avid reader, loved gardening, crafts, decorating and cooking for her family.

There will be a private celebration of Anne's life at a later date. She will be interred next to her beloved husband Richard in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11 th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family also wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary's Nursing Home and the staff of Home Care Health Services Hospice, especially nurse Danielle Madson, for the loving care they gave to Anne during her courageous battle with cancer.
