Arlene C. Funk, age 82, of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Mary's Felician Village.

Arlene was born on November 6, 1938 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to the late Dean and Marion (Griffiths) Shafer.   She graduated from Rosendale Union Free High School with the class of 1956.  Arlene continued her education at Marian College, graduating in 1960.  She married Howard Funk in 1967, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2017.  Arlene taught grade school in Port Washington, Fond du Lac, and Oak Creek.

Survivors include her son, Timothy (Jennifer) Funk, DePere; a sister, Betty (Dick) Dahlke, Rosendale; two brothers, Dean (Sandra) Shafer, Columbiaville, MI., and Dan (Debra) Shafer, Rogersville, AL.; a sister-in-law, Lois Heskett, Estherville, IA.; a brother-in-law, Leonard (Patricia) Funk, Jefferson, WI.; a sister-in-law, Dorene (Norman) Kammin, Elroy, WI., as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Marion Shafer.

Cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will take place at a later date in Rosendale Cemetery.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
