Obituary

Audrey J. Bennett slipped away from this life on April 12, 2022. She was known for her love for God, her family, her church and her neighbors and friends. She will be missed, but we know she is enjoying her new life without pain, or worry, or physical limitations. We look forward to joining her when our time on earth is over.

Her life was long and happy. Audrey was born in Chicago on August 2, 1928. She met Ralph Bennett at Bethel Bible College in St. Paul MN and they were married in Chicago on August 23, 1952. The couple had two children and the family eventually settled in Two Rivers, WI, where Ralph worked at Manitowoc Crane Co. Audrey considered herself a homemaker, not a housewife, which implied she was married to the house. In fact, her focus was on making a home for her family.

Audrey and Ralph were instrumental in founding Faith Church in Manitowoc and Hope Church in Two Rivers. Audrey was active in her church for as long as her health allowed. Her personal faith in Jesus Christ her savior sustained her as her health failed in recent years. We're sure she was greeted in Heaven with "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Mathew 25:23).

She was preceded in death by her parents Adolf and Esther (Riego) Holstedt (Chicago), her brother Frank Holstedt (South Carolina), her son Steve Bennett (Manitowoc) and her husband Ralph Bennett. Her surviving family includes daughter Jan Bennett (Two Rivers), daughter-in-law Lynn Bennett (Winona, MN), three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Faith Church, 2201 S. 42 nd Street in Manitowoc, on Monday, April 18. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 with a light brunch to follow at the church. For those who are unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed, and a link will be posted on the church website (https://faithchurchmanitowoc.org) following the service.  Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11 th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
