Audrey A. Tomchek, a resident of Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, her residence.
Audrey was born on August 28, 1938 in Manitowoc to the late Leonard and Clara Firkus Hronek. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Throughout her life she was employed in various trades, but it wasn't until 1994 that she found her true calling and opened Uniquely Yours Pastry Shoppe with her daughter. She worked full-time at Uniquely Yours until 2008.
Her hobbies were also what she excelled at in life- she was an absolutely phenomenal cook and baker. She loved dining out, reading cooking magazines and pouring over recipe books. Impromptu elaborate dinner parties for friends and family were her specialty. When her body was willing, her green thumb turned out an amazing garden full of flowers and edibles. She was well loved, respected, and shall be terribly missed.
Survivors include her two children: Jennifer Pasquill and her husband John Carlucci, Portland, OR; Jeff Tomchek and his significant other Eileen Nemeroff, Highland Park, IL; two grandsons: Dashiell Tomchek and Raine Tomchek; several siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends scattered all over the world. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas J. Tomchek.
According to Audrey's wishes, there will be no memorial service. Online condolences may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
