Barbara H. Buda, age 79, a Manitowoc resident, died Sunday morning, October 22, 2017 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Milwaukee on November 16, 1937 daughter of the late Vencil and Wanda (Milczarski) Knapik. Barbara was a graduate of South Division High School in Milwaukee with the class of 1956. She then attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Lakeshore Technical Institute. Barbara was employed as an LPN with the Clement J Zablocki Veterans Medical Center in Milwaukee until her retirement. On April 14, 1956 she married Joseph Buda at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1984. Barbara loved to watch the Packers. She also enjoyed crafting, playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law: Richard and Debbie Buda, John Buda, and Mike Buda, all of Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and Patricia Knapik, Florida, Daniel and Mary Knapik, Milwaukee; one sister: Suzanne Reeves, Milwaukee; one sister-in-law: Maryann Nicholson, West Allis. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Buda; her parents: Vencil and Wanda Knapik; and one daughter-in-law: Roxanne Buda.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Mleziva. Cremation will take place following services and Barbara will be laid to rest at Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 5:30 PM.
