Bernette A. Wachholz, age 85, of 3204 Stokes Lane, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday evening, June 26, 2010 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc where she resided since February 2010.

Bernette was born November 15, 1924 in the town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Hessel Muench. On January 27, 1943 she married Paul D. Wachholz in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1996. Bernette was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She is survived by 3 children: Paul (Susan) Wachholz, Green Bay, WI; Andrea (Jerry) Morse, Janesville, WI; Dr. Pamela (Robert Neste) Wachholz, Hemet, CA; one sister: Bernice Hassemer, Francis Creek, WI; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother-in-law: Norman (Dorothy) Wachholz; sister-in-law: Dorothy Bouril; special friend: Marlene Revolinsky, Whitelaw, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul in 1996; one brother: Gerald Muench; one sister: Margaret Muench; special friend: Eugene Burish.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Foley with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial be directed to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center for Research.
