Bernice V. Tadych, age 99, a Manitowoc resident, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday evening, March 7, 2024 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehab, Manitowoc.

She was born September 30, 1924 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Sverre and Martha (Smits) Segerson. On April 30, 1940, she married Clarence J. Tadych Sr. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1983. Bernice is lovingly known as Grandma Bernice or "everyone's grandma" as she cared for and babysat for over 85 children over the years. She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Bernice also was a great casino partner, bowler, and enjoyed throwing dartball in her younger years. She especially enjoyed bumming with her family, especially to go shopping or to rummage sales.

Bernice is survived by four children: Bernice "Jean" Tadych, Louise Gomm, Jeff (Diana) Tadych, and Sara Hranicka; one daughter-in-law: Gertie Tadych; 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren; her brother: Orville (Cindy) Segerson, Eagle, Wisconsin; sister: Darlene (Lester) Rabska, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Clarence Tadych Sr; two sons: Clarence (Doreen) Tadych Jr. and Chester Tadych; two sons-in-law: Elton Gomm and Louis Hranicka; one great-grandson: Zander Lyons; siblings: Steve Segerson, Harold (Mary) Segerson, Lori (Larry) Kinderman (Charles Forsberg), Norma (Harold) Fairfield, and Gilbert Segerson; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Following the service, a luncheon will be held for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, located on the southside property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Bernice will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth, at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
