Betty A.
Duveneck
January 23, 1945 – November 17, 2022
Betty A. Duveneck, 77, of Newton, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at home, surrounded by family and under the care of her loving husband.
She was born in Wisconsin Rapids on January 23, 1945 to the late Ruben and Elizabeth Gauger. Betty attended grade school and graduated from Madison East High School with the class of 1963. She married Allan Duveneck on November 14, 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Madison. For many years she worked alongside her husband at Al's Transmissions and Auto Service in Manitowoc. She could be found in the office answering phones, taking care of the books and office, and watching their children.
Family was always most important to Betty and the following is shared by one of her grandchildren:
Betty Duveneck was a wife, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a friend, but more importantly she was a role model, an idol, and everyone's biggest supporter. She was the backbone of our large family, as her dream of having a life with wonderful children came true. She always made time for anyone, she attended years of basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, and football events as much as she could, showing support for her grandchildren. There were never any questions left unanswered, as she ALWAYS had the answers. From her reaching smile to her big long hello hugs, for many she felt like home. Keeping her religious heart open for everyone to see, and her eyes on Life360, she lived her life showing everyone how a true family should be.
Survivors include her husband, Allan; sons, Craig (Taunya) Duveneck of Valders and Michael (Erin) Duveneck of Valders; daughters, Laurie (Larry) Gabka of Sobieski and Lisa Duveneck of Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren; brother, Orville (Marsha) Gauger of Chippewa Falls; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Elizabeth Gauger.
