Bonnie C. Dokey, age 80, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at her home.
Bonnie was born on January 20, 1945 in San Diego, CA to the late John Rider (Ardelle Jeannette Ladwig) Jones Jr. She graduated from Terrell County High School in Dawson, GA and went on to attend Pensacola Jr. College in Pensacola, FL. On June 10, 1966, Bonnie married James R. Dokey in Menominee, MI. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1989. Between starting as a CNA and then promoting to a unit secretary, Bonnie worked her entire career spanning over 40 years at Holy Family Memorial Hospital. She was an avid reader and enjoyed logging many motorcycle miles with her husband, Jimmy. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include Bonnie's two children, Michael (Tammy) Dokey and Janet (Jeff) Bronson; six grandchildren, Leann (Craig) Barnett, Joshua (Jessica) Dokey, Ashley Howell, James (Noel) Howell, Zachary Howell, and Curtiss Dokey and fiancée, Mackenzie; seven great grandchildren, John, Leah, Caitie, Mikey, Bella, Charlie, and Hudson; Richard (Diane) Jones, Roger "Chief" (Carol) Jones, and Jeff Jones; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy; brother, Robert (Dorothy) Jones; sister, Karen Sue Jones; also, many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for all the care and compassion they provided. Also, special recognition to Bonnie's son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tammy, as they provided so much loving care that allowed Bonnie to remain in her home.
