Carol Jane Kumbalek, age 65, of 1017 North 18th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Friday, September 3, 2010 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Carol Jane was born March 10, 1945 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late John and Rosalinda Woelfel Endries. She was a graduate of St. Gregory High School in St. Nazianz with the class of 1963. Carol Jane was employed for 14 years with Aluminum Specialty and then became a waitress at various restaurants in the area. She married John Kumbalek on May 5, 1969 at Waukegan, Illinois and then May 28, 1969 at the Endries residence. Carol Jane was a member of the Manitowoc County Historical Society, the Manitowoc Senior Center, American Cribbage Congress and was a crossing guard for the Manitowoc School System.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years: John; brothers and sisters: Alois Endries, St. Nazianz; Selvina (Delmar) Lettenberger, Wooddale, IL; Genrose (Richard) Lettenberger, Manitowoc; Leo (Okie) Endries, California; James (Jerriann) Endries, rural Valders; Joanne Hooper, Plymouth, WI; Mark Endries, International Falls, MN; Roger Endries, Kiel, WI; Gary (Ruth) Schnell, Valders; brother-in-law: George Woelfel, Chilton; sister-in-law: Sharon Eldred, Chilton; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. Carol Jane was preceded in death by three sisters: Estella (Herbert) Boettcher; Anna Mae (James) Rosecky; Florence Woefel; one brother: Eugene Endries; one sister-in-law: Julianne Endries; stepfather: Norbert Schnell.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
