Obituary

Catherine J. LeClair, age 81, a resident of Two Rivers, entered eternal life on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her residence.

Katie was born on September 24, 1933 in Wausau to the late John and Catherine Terrio Smith. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. Katie completed her education by graduating from Western Union School in 1952. On September 5, 1953, Katie married James LeClair at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. James preceded her in death on December 31, 2009. Katie was employed with Western Union, Paragon Electric and retired from Manitowoc County Veteran's Administration Office in 1994. She enjoyed spending her time cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards, and was a world traveler. Katie was an advocate for programs supporting people with special needs. She was a member of Two Rivers Senior Center and St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Survivors include Katie's six children: Susan (Robert) Schleis, Janesville; Catherine (Mike) LaRocca, Arlington Heights, IL; Patricia (John) Beyer, Charlotte, NC; Kenneth (Jo Ann) LeClair, Cottage Grove; Irene (Mike) Maher, Schertz, TX; James II, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Shawn LeClair, Christopher LeClair, Christopher (Amy) Jackson, Sarah (James) Tash, Lindsay Beyer and her fiancé Chris, A.J. (Sarah) Beyer, and Brandon LaRocca; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo – 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dan Schuster with entombment to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, Katie's family would appreciate memorials to Holiday House or Better Beginnings in Manitowoc.
