Obituary

Charles P. Growe, age 86, a resident of Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

Charles was born on July 11, 1928 in Chicago to the late Peter and Irene Kwasigroch. He studied at DePaul University before entering the Junior Executive Program at Jewel Tea Company. He was also a paratrooper in the US Airborne Division. Charles married Dolores Hogan in 1949 and started their family in Westchester, IL at Divine Infant Parish. In 1968, upon becoming Vice President of Kohls Foods, the family moved to Wauwatosa. Following Kohls, Charles was a successful founder and owner of National Sales Associates and Food Marketing Services. Charles and Dolores retired to Shore Acres in Dykesville. He delighted in family, fishing, birding and wintering with Dolores in South Padre Island, TX.

Survivors include Charles's wife: Dolores; four children: Susan Growe, Wynnewood, PA; Cheryl Milligan, Sturtevant; Mark (Mary) Growe, New Holstein; and Bob (Peg) Growe, Rockport, TX; three sisters: Charlotte Cacciatore, Mary Carol Stapleton, and Patricia Kudla and 10 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his son Timothy who died at the age of two.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Blessed Angela Chapel at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, 1635 S. 21st Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Mauthe will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at the chapel from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon. An appreciation reception will be held at the Felician Village on Friday at 3 p.m. for the Felician Village staff and Home Care Health Services and Hospice of Manitowoc.

Also, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall – 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc, and will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Foley. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.
