Charlotte M. Gatlin, age 81, of 2237 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday evening, September 3, 2011 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

Charlotte was born April 30, 1930 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Rodzinsky Pech. On June 8, 1955 she married Colvin D. Gatlin in Texas. Charlotte owned and operated Charlotte's Beauty Shop in Francis Creek for over 40 years. She enjoyed gardening and decorating.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Colvin; one son: Gary Gatlin: Manitowoc, WI; one daughter and son-in-law: Brenda and Dennis Barter, Waterloo, Iowa; one grandson: Jason P. Barter; one niece: Vickie Pech Kortbein; one sister-in-law: Elizabeth Davis.

Private services for the family will be held on Tuesday afternoon, September 6, 2011 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc on Wednesday morning, September 7, 2011.

Charlotte fought a valiant battle with cancer. She was a strong, sometimes feisty woman who carved her mark in her profession as well as her entire life. She will be remembered often and sorely missed by her family and her many friends.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
