Claire Keil, age 93, a resident of Manitowoc (long-time resident of Sheboygan), passed away on November 16, 2024, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.

Claire was born on April 6, 1931, in Sheboygan to the late Clemens and Edna (Schmitz) Darnieder. She attended schools in Sheboygan and graduated from Central High School. Claire married Karl Keil on August 8, 1953, in Sheboygan. Karl preceded her in death in 1991. Claire enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, baking, and spending time with her family and friends. Claire also spent several years volunteering her time at the Sheboygan County Courthouse.

Claire is survived by her children: Andy Keil (Mary), Richard Keil (Kelly), Larry Keil (Naomi), Jim Keil; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law: Rosemarie Darnieder.  Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Karl Keil; daughter: Kathy; son-in-law: Robert Corbit Sr.; and three brothers: Victor (Pat) Darnieder, Roland (Ginny) Darnieder, Jerry Darnieder.

Cremation has occurred at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
