Clifford D. Brennan, age 66, a resident of Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his residence.
Cliff was born on June 18, 1946 in Manitowoc to the late Owen and Edith Zietlow Brennan. Cliff graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1964. He then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from July 14, 1964 until his honorable discharge on July 9, 1967. On May 14, 1977, Cliff married Roseann Grapentine at the former St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Cliff was employed as a truck driver by his brother, Dean Brennan. He had also work for other trucking companies until he became self employed as The Brennan Company until his retirement in 2009. Cliff enjoyed competing in the Waupun Truck Show for many years. He had won many trophies and had always said, "If it shines, it's mine" and "Rollin' in the green". Cliff enjoyed watching Packer games and spending time with his family and friends – especially his three grandchildren. He was a member of American Legion Post 88, lifetime member of AMVETS Post 99, and St. Francis of Assisi in Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years: Roseann; one son: Casey Brennan and special friend, Lisa Kwarciany, Manitowoc; one daughter: Megan (Ciro) Morales, Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Owen John, Madalyn Rose, and Evan Julio; six sisters: Carol (Darwin) Koerth, Potter; Peggy (Loren) Johnson, Kingsford, MI; Edie (Al) Hood, Benton, ME; Dorothy Suttles, Sacramento, CA; Joan (Gary) Lemke, Potter; and Sue Kostalic, Sheboygan; two brothers: Dean (Virginia) Brennan, Manitowoc and John Brennan, Sheboygan; eight sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law: Kathleen Brennan, Manitowoc; Kandy Brennan, Appleton; Sharon (Conrad) Gadzinski, Manitowoc; Karen (Robert) Behnke, Whitelaw; Marie Grapentine and her partner, Jean Erickson, Manitowoc; Kay Loveless and special friend, Al Hoes, Manitowoc; Beth (Troy) Copeland, Manitowoc; John Grapentine, Manitowoc; and Gary (Darsi) Grapentine, Manitowoc; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Edith Brennan; eight brothers: Bernard, Ray, Dale, Howard, James, Michael, Robert, and Thomas Brennan; one sister-in-law: Chris Brennan.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dave Pleier will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post 99. Following the military rites, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
