Cordelia J. Knorr, age 95, a resident of the Town of Newton, entered eternal life on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Cordy was born on November 19, 1920 in Chilton to the late Frank and Louise Halbach Vogt. She graduated from Chilton High School with the class of 1938 and completed her education by attending Clarke College in Dubuque, IA. On February 12, 1943, Cordy married Roy A. Knorr at Fort Benning, GA. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2010. Cordy was a longtime employee of Lakefield Telephone Company from where she retired in 1982. When Cordy's son John was killed in Vietnam, she was proud to represent the Gold Star Mothers. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, American Legion Auxiliary Post 28 in Valders, and volunteered at the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include Cordy's two children: Michael (Kathleen) Knorr, rural Manitowoc; and Carol (John) De Broux, Green Bay; three grandchildren: Mark (Sue) Knorr, Eugene Knorr, and Jennifer (Brad) Lloyd; six great grandchildren: Victoria (Josh) Henkel, Josh Lloyd, Lilly Lloyd, Angela (Nathan) LeMay, Derek Knorr, and Jacob Knorr; great great grandson: Brantley LeMay; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cordy was preceded in death by her husband: Roy A. Knorr; son: John Knorr; parents: Frank and Louise Vogt; and brother: Leo Vogt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand – 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Beaudry with burial to take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Chilton.
