David Herman Hanson, 73, of Manitowoc, WI, and formerly of Ada, MN, passed away on September 20, 2020 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center while surrounded by his children, who he adored. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Dave managed his illness with a quiet strength and grace.

Dave was born January 10, 1947, to the late Carl and Inez (Lura) Hanson in Ada, MN. He graduated high school in Ada, MN with the class of 1965 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics from NDSU in 1969.

Survivors include Dave's daughters, Kimberly (Timothy) Rewolinski, Muskego, WI; Rebecca (Kenji) Hashiguchi, Franklin, TN; Greta (Paul) Hutterer, Manitowoc, WI; and Heidi (Gary) Barth, Cedarburg, WI; five grandchildren that meant the world to him, Spencer, Jake, Ethan, Hanna and Emma; three brothers, Roger Hanson, Crookston, MN; Jim (Elaine) Hanson, Ada, MN; and Mike (Arlene) Hanson, Erhard, MN; nieces and nephews: Brock (Cheryl) Hanson, Fargo, ND; Chasity (Bobby) Brandt, Ada, MN; Jeremy (Sam) Hanson Willis, Minneapolis, MN; Jamie (Cindy) Hanson, Fargo, ND; Jodi (Lee) Sargent, Ada, MN; Josh Hanson, Thief River Falls, MN; Jesse Hanson, Ada, MN; also many other relatives and friends. He also had an incredible group of friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Inez Hanson; and sister, baby girl Hanson.

Dave was very proud of his daughters and grandkids. He would help anyone with anything. He loved farming, gardening, anything Ada, restoring VW Bugs, oatmeal cream pies, fixing anything and making something for you from his shop! He was dependable, hardworking, quiet, funny, an obsessive list-maker, never complained and was always up for anything...even skydiving!

The family will greet relatives and friends at on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, West 3 ^rd Avenue, Ada, MN.  The visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m.  Pastor Ron Hobbie will officiate with burial of Dave's cremated remains to follow at Petri Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
