David “Heimy” Heimerman, age 52, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away with family by his side on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
Heimy was born on February 1, 1974, son of Bruce and Debra (Baxter) Heimerman. After attending Lincoln High School, he went on to work at Federal Mogul and Color Craft. But Heimy’s true passion was working at various taverns in Manitowoc, and the friends he made through his work. He started working side-by-side with his good friend Travis Lauson at Saucy’s as a bartender. Later on, Travis along with Brad Fisher, presented Heimy with the opportunity to work as the bar manager at Shoot the Bull, where he was currently employed. On June 8, 2024, Heimy married Dakota Ross at Pine Crest Historical Village. He was an outgoing people person that was a walking encyclopedia filled with advice to share. Heimy enjoyed spending his time fishing, boating, playing video games and Legos, and all things Star Wars. Above all, he enjoyed spending his time with his wife, Dakota, and dog, Finley Rose.
Survivors include Heimy’s wife, Dakota; parents, Bruce and Debra Heimerman; biological father, Jon Matejovetz; five siblings, John Heimerman, Christopher Heimerman, Stacy Wetenkamp, Tammy Wetenkamp, and Jasmine Matejovetz; mother-in-law, Jacque Ross (Tom Bonnefoi); brother-in-law, Jacob Ross; also other relatives and many friends. Heimy was preceded in death by his grandparents, and father-in-law, Jesse Ross.
