David L. Howell, age 70, of 729 North 9th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday morning, May 7, 2012 with his family by his side at the family residence.

David was born October 18, 1941 at Crystal Falls, Michigan. He was the son of the late Lester and Leona Antoskiewicz Howell. David attended Stambaugh High School in Stambaugh, Michigan. He was employed at Eck Industries for 36 years before retiring in 2004. On August 3, 1963 he married Nancy Cichantek at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. David was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Nancy; three sons: Timothy Howell, Denmark, WI; Dean (Kim) Howell, Manitowoc; Randy Howell and special friend Tracy Ogren, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, one step great grandson; four brothers: Jerry (Julie) Howell, West Plaines, MO; Kenneth Shimun, Caspian, MI; Mark (Jean) Shimun, Iron River, MI; Gary (Gwen) Shimun, Plantation, FL; one sister: Patricia (Craig) Cadwell, Decatur, MI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Lester Howell; mother and stepfather: Leona and Charles Shimun; one brother: James Shimun.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Al Boeldt officiating. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
