Obituary

If you are reading this, it means that my life story has wrapped up. I tried to make it a good one, filled with love, laughter, memories, lots of shenanigans and at least a few questionable decisions that I'm still laughing about. I've always had a big mouth and an even bigger heart for my friends, family and my loyal customers at Maritime Ford.

I was born on December 30, 1953 and Manitowoc was never the same! I graduated from Lincoln High in 1972 and went on to Silver Lake College to graduate with a degree in Human Resources. I worked at Manitowoc Ice after that and then spent the rest of my career in car sales at Maritime Ford where I retired after 25 years. I loved my customers and I know they adored me! One of my greatest memories was meeting Antonio Freeman, who was a beloved Packers Wide Receiver. We had a promotional deal with him and not only did he get a great car, he got to meet me! I think I was his biggest and loudest fan!

Over the years, I loved working with the gang at the Elks Lodge and volunteering at the Manitowoc Airshow with my "bestie" Jutta. Some of my greatest memories were those made at the Longbranch with the Stelzer gang; too many memories to mention! I also want to acknowledge my fellow "Valley (Silver) Girls". Every Thursday at 2:00 p.m. like clockwork.

I am survived by my brother, Randy, to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude for all he did for me over these recent years, especially when I wasn't always the best "roommate" to live with. I am also survived by my nephew Calvin Kapitz and niece Jessica Kadlec, plus all the wonderful people I was lucky to call my friends.

Preceding me in death were my beloved parents, Arnie and Shirley Kapitz, and Sister, Mary Lou Kadlec.

My family will greet friends at my celebration of life from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water Street, Manitowoc. Please "Run One" and share memories and laughter with each other. Perhaps a shot of my favorite Leroux Jezynowka (Blackberry Brandy) would be the perfect way to celebrate!

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, Manitowoc, is assisting the Kapitz family with funeral arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.

I would like to extend a special thank you to all of those special caregivers and doctors I saw over the years and most recently, the incredible and caring staff at both Aurora BayCare and Aurora Two Rivers.

"I just want to thank God because it was one hell of a ride"
