Della M. Denil, age 81, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life late Monday evening, February 15, 2016 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
Della was born November 5, 1934 in Sturgeon Bay. She was the daughter of the late Donah and Mabel Roble Destree. Della was a graduate of Brussels High School with the class of 1952. She moved to Manitowoc in 1955 and had been employed with Fisher Hamilton Industries in Two Rivers for many years from where she retired in 1998. On September 12, 1953 she married Hubert J. Denil at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brussels. Della was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed all of the activities while she resided at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Hubert; two sons: Michael L. Denil, Green Bay; Alan (Denis) Denil, Manitowoc; four daughters: Gail (Walter) Aguilar, CA; Diane (Dan) O'Connell, Superior; Denise (Patrick) Reed, Two Rivers; Mary (Ronald) Simmelink, Sheboygan; one brother: Maynard (Janet) Destree, Green Bay; twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Donah and Mabel Destree; and her son: Gary Denil.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the services at 11 a.m. Immediately following the funeral services at church there will be a luncheon held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
