Obituary

Delor "Pinky" Weber, age 89, of Tipler, WI, died on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Oscar Johnson VA Center in Iron Mountain, MI after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pinky was born on May 28, 1926 in Kingsford, MI to the late George and Minola (Richards) Weber. As a young child, they moved to Manistique, MI where he lived and went to school. Pinky was proud to play in the U.P.'s first North/South all star football game. He graduated from Manistique High School with the class of 1946. After high school, Pinky went into the United States Army where he served in Italy until his honorable discharge. He then sailed the Great Lakes on the John A. Kling.

On July 7, 1951, Pinky married Jeanette Adelmann at St. Francis Catholic Church in Manistique, MI. They then moved to Manitowoc, WI where Pinky worked at Dawson Springer and Schneider Transport until his retirement in 1985. They then owned and operated the Pink Spot Bar from 1977 to 1984. When they retired, they moved to Iron River, MI, and then to Tipler, WI in 1992 where they lived with their son, Ron.

Pinky was a life-member and past Commander of Amvets Post 99 in Manitowoc, WI. He loved to play golf and was an avid Packer fan. When Pinky was 16, he hitch-hiked from Manistique, MI to Green Bay to see his first Packer game. Pinky was always joking around and had an answer for every comment. He was very involved in Boy Scouts of America.
