Delores A. Mitchell, age 86, a resident of River Wood Estates, 950 S. Rapids Road, Manitowoc, died peacefully Friday evening, March 15, 2013 at River Wood Estates.

Delores was born on May 8, 1926 in Marathon County, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Alice Nehring Schar. On July 28, 1945 she married John Mitchell. He preceded her in death in 1998. Delores enjoyed gardening and sewing clothes for her family, making quilts and pillows. Delores and her husband John also enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques together.

She is survived by three children: Helen (Joseph) Klug, Manitowoc, WI; John Mitchell and significant other Sandy, Black River Falls, WI; Gary Mitchell, Black River Falls, WI; four grandchildren: Janelle (Dan) Hoefert, Adam (Sarah) Klug, Edward (Yam) Klug and Amanda (Peter) Linsink; nine great grandchildren, one brother: Wesley (Lorraine) Schar, Marshfield, WI; one sister: Ellen Janusz, Milwaukee, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Alice Schar; husband: John; son: Mark; and two brothers.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The reader for the service will be Keith J. Burnett. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
