Obituary

Dennis "Mac" Earl McDonald passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at age 86. He was born on May 17, 1939, to Emma (Farrar) and James McDonald in Breed, Wisconsin. He was raised to have a hard work ethic that led him to Two Rivers where he worked at Mirro for 22 years, until he started his own business, Mac's Cleaning Service. After running his own business for 45 years, he decided to take a step back and started working at Jagemann Plating Co. for 12 years, finally retiring when he was 80. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and darts; showing his Corvette at local car shows; watching the Packers, Bucks, and Nascar; kayaking and experiencing the outdoors; and of course working on many, various home improvement projects.

Mac is survived by his children Debi McDonald, Darci LaChappelle, and Derrick McDonald; daughter-in-law Laura McDonald; grandchildren James McDonald, Raymond McDonald, Kristen (Gage) Dawiedczyk, Nathan (Jeni) Jergenson, Megan (Travis) Jergenson, Miranda Jergenson, Hailey (Dylan) Hood, Ryan (Eme) LaChappelle, and Nick (Emile) LaChappelle; 17 great-grandchildren Jameson, Braelyn, Mark, McKenzie, Braxton, Abel, Dawson, Noel, Walker, Charleigh, Aiden, Bentley, Damien, Logan, Ella, Aleigha, and Autumn; sister Donna McDonald; and special friend Gloria Soto. He is further survived by his former wife Yvonne, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mac was preceded in death by his parents James and Emma McDonald; son Dennis McDonald Jr.; son-in-law Paul LaChappelle; siblings Joyce (Al) Simonetti, Doug (Donna) McDonald, and Dean (Marilu) McDonald; as well as nieces and nephews.

A private family interment will be held at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends are invited to a Life Celebration Social honoring Mac at Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water St., Manitowoc, on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Lakeland Care, Froedtert Holy Family Hospital, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center- Neenah, Shady Lane in Manitowoc, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their exceptional care of Mac.
