Obituary

Diana C. Smith, age 76, found eternal peace with The Lord on December 24, 2021, at Luther Manor Retirement Community in Milwaukee.

She was born on February 5 th , 1945, in Panama City, Florida to Alfred and Margaret (Palmer) Nelson. Diana married James Smith in North Kansas City, Missouri, in 1969. The couple later moved to Manitowoc, WI, in 1970 where they raised their four children.

Diana was a generous person who dedicated her life to her family. Her sons and grandchildren found joy in her company and humor. Diana's joyous personality made her even more special to those near her. Diana loved traveling, dancing, playing board games, swimming, sunsets, pizza, and Charlton Heston. She also deeply loved her country and watching Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs games, claiming she always wanted both teams to win.

Diana was active in prayer groups and volunteered as a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine teacher in Whitelaw. Her incredible devotion to the Catholic Church inspired others. She also worked in banking, utility, and research companies in her decades of employment. She loved living in Manitowoc and visiting with her host of friends.

Diana is survived by her sister, Deborah (Martin) Isenberg; her three boys, David Smith, Nathan Smith, and Aaron Smith; three daughters-in-law: Lynne, Jennifer, and Nicole; six grandchildren: Patrick, Sarah, Oskar, Conan, Francesca, and Charlotte; and one nephew, Zachary.
