Obituary

Diane C. Krull, 77, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024. Born on December 26, 1946, in Appleton, she was the beloved daughter of Bernard and Lorraine (Hooyman) Weiland.

Diane graduated from Seymour High School in 1965 and pursued her passion for nursing at Bellin College. She married Gary Krull on May 8, 1976, spending 46 years together until his death in December 2022.

Diane dedicated her career to nursing, specializing in OB/Maternity care. She worked at St. Vincent's and Bellin Hospitals in Green Bay and later shared her expertise as a medical terminology instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Diane continued her nursing career at Mesa View Hospital in Mesquite, Nevada, until her retirement. Aside from nursing, she owned and operated The Country Express in Bellevue for many years with her husband and other partners. Diane also worked at Kohl's in the jewelry department, which was another of her passions.

Diane cherished life's simple joys, including shopping, annual trips to Door County with her nursing school friends, and connecting with others at the Parkinson's support group she attended at the Manitowoc Senior Center. She was an enthusiastic collector, curating a variety of items from her shopping adventures and personal nostalgia. Her family holds countless fond memories of time spent together at their vacation home on Lake Noquebay near Crivitz—a place filled with laughter and love.

Above all, Diane's greatest joy was her family. She was immensely proud of her two daughters, who followed in Diane's footsteps by pursuing careers with a deep commitment to helping others in healthcare, education and non-profits. Diane's three grandsons were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Diane is survived by her daughters Sara (Brad) Kaster, Browntown, WI, and Kari (Andy) Mueller, Manitowoc; grandsons Edward and Emmitt Mueller, and Cash Rhyan Paul Kaster; her sister Lois Wright, Goleta, California; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jerry (Joyce) Krull, De Pere, Nancy (Tayo) Kimps, Green Bay, Dianne (Joe) Bodart, Cato, Sue (Randy) Merryfield, Green Bay, Karen (Steve) Giles, Combined Locks, and LeAnne Krull, Clintonville; her furry companion Abbey and many special nieces and nephews, especially Dave (Christina) Wright and Keli (Mike) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; sister and brothers-in-law: Delores (Larry) Stephani and Wayne Wright; Gary's parents: Harold and Jeanne Krull; brother-in-law: Jeffrey Allen Krull; and nieces and nephews: Jessica Van Straten, Steve Stephani, and Kaysie Kimps.
