Diane J. Stanzel, age 70, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Unity Hospice, DePere, with her family by her side.
Diane was born on March 20, 1946 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Ethel Luebke Stanzel. Diane was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1964. She had been employed at Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc. Diane enjoyed reading, traveling through 47 states, decorating and rearranging furniture, arts and crafts, and Christmas Eve.
She is survived by her very special friend: Tony Packowski, Manitowoc; one daughter: Rachelle (Chris Anderson) Nelson, DePere; one son: Douglas (Karyn) Nelson, Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Keegan and Alec; two sisters: Dawn (Wally) Bednarsky, Green Bay; Donna and Felix Ricco, Minnetonka, MN; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives, friends, and her two dogs: Shelby and Matika. She was preceded in death by her parents: Richard and Ethel Stanzel.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Knollwood Mausoleum with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at Knollwood Mausoleum on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
