Dolly (Doris) Gleichner, age 88, entered eternal life on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Dolly was born on December 9, 1928 in Wauwatosa. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Novak Silbersack. Dolly attended Lincoln High School and later was employed with Mirro Foley for 30 years retiring in 1994. On April 10, 1948 she married Gilbert E. Gleichner Sr. at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1982. Dolly was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and also followed college football and basketball. She enjoyed playing bingo and watching game shows and soap operas on television.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Dale and Kristine Gleichner, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Dale Wittmus, rural Manitowoc; Cheri and Jeff Korinek, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren with one more expected in January 2018, three great great grandchildren, one sister: Alice Silbersack, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Josephine Silbersack; husband: Gilbert Gleichner Sr. in 1982; one son: Gilbert Jr. in 1970; one granddaughter: Jamie Korinek; one grandson: Nicholas Martin; one brother and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Thomas Tomaszewski officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the memorial services a luncheon will be held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
