Obituary

Donald D. Duescher, age 78, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, June 3, 2016 at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Don was born on October 5, 1937 in Kewaunee to the late Leonard and Eleanor Swoboda Duescher. On August 4, 1956, Don married Shirley Waterstreet in Kewuanee. He had been employed at Manitowoc Company for more than 25 years until his retirement in 2000. Don enjoyed spending his time camping, fishing, snowmobiling, going to his cabin up north, and collecting tractors. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include Don's wife of 60 years: Shirley; six children: Bonny (Eugene) Durben, Valders; Russ (Cindy) Duescher, Manitowoc; Doug (Ann) Duescher, Manitowoc; Brenda (Gary) Bruechert, St. Nazianz; Connie (Patrick) Springstube, Two Rivers; and Donald Duescher Jr., Manitowoc; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; step granddaughter; two step great grandsons; brother-in-law: Carl Watersteet; also a niece, nephew, other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard and Eleanor Duescher; and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Christopher Hoppe will officiate with entombment to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
