Donald G. Marquardt passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023. We would like to extend our gratefulness to the amazing staff at Abridge Care Cottage of Chilton and Promedica Hospice. We also send our deepest appreciation for the staff at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.

Donald Gene Marquardt was born on May 3rd, 1934 in Steven's Point, Wisconsin, son of the late Herbert and Elvira "Vera" Schmidt Marquardt. The family moved to Manitowoc, WI when Don was in 3rd grade. Don began working part-time at Insulation and Supply Co. at the age of 16, and he remained with the company for a remarkable 50 years. He married Henrietta E. Moffatt on May 27th, 1961. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2023. Don's primary passion revolved around playing sports and contributing to the establishment and coordination of Kenny's Tournament. He cherished his family deeply and felt immense gratitude for the strong and enduring bond he shared with his two incredible brothers throughout their entire lives. In the later years, their love and support remained unmatched. The only thing he cherished more was his grand and great-grandchildren. If you would like to honor him, spend time with your loved ones and cherish the moments.

He is survived by his children: Kelly Marquardt and Michael (Debra) Marquardt; grandchildren: Gwen (Josh) Thompson, Payton, Benjamin, Braddock, Adalynn, & Jackson Marquardt; great-grandchildren: Ivan & Brianna Davis, Gavin & Ashton Thompson; his brothers: Paul Marquardt and Lee Marquardt; and sister-in-law: Lola Fissel.

He was preceded in death by: his wife: Henrietta Marquardt; daughter: Dawn Marquardt; his Parents: Herbert Marquardt and Elvira Marquardt; sister-in-law: June Marquardt; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Bruce Moffatt (Sandy), Harvey Sr. and Evelyn (Evie) Moffatt, Beatrice and Eugene Free, Loretta (Lorie) and Donald Schmitz; nephews: Brian and David Marquardt; and nieces: Julie (Moffatt) Leonard and Ruby (Moffatt) Tuschl.

Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a Life Celebration Social will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc.
