Obituary

Doras Jansky Behnke, age 88, of 524 Riverview Drive, Manitowoc, entered eternal life early Monday morning, October 10, 2011 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Doras was born July 1, 1923 in Neenah, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Lillian Randolph Fisher. Doras was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. She was employed as a stenographer for Manitowoc Ship Building and later employed with Invincible Furniture. On August 27, 1949 she married Robert P. Jansky in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1974. She later married Milton E. Behnke on February 23, 1979 in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1998. She was a member of the Lakeshore United Methodist Church and also active with the Women's Circle of the church and the church choir. Doras was also a member and past president of the Monday Music Club and also a member of the Manitowoc Senior Center where she was active with the exercise classes and painting classes at the center. Family, church and music were most important to her. Doras enjoyed life and being with people.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Gil and Mary Jansky, San Diego, CA; three grandchildren: Lora Muehlbauer, Brillion, WI; Robin (Steve) Abts, Brillion, WI; Amber (Peter) Johnson, Brookfield, WI; ten great grandchildren: Amanda, Kylie, Dylan and Addyson Muehlbauer; Alexandria, Abigail and Aydin Abts; McKenna, Lilly and Kale Johnson; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Lillian Fisher; her first husband: Robert Jansky; second husband: Milton Behnke; one daughter; Gale Buboltz; two brothers: Bill Fisher and John R. Fisher; one sister: Bette Kelley.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Lakeshore United Methodist Church, 411 Reed Avenue, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas J. Dunham. Cremation will follow with burial of the cremated remains to take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
