Douglas W. Larson's Obituary
Douglas W. Larson, age 69, of 1512 Reed Avenue, Manitowoc, entered eternal life early Tuesday morning, September 24, 2013 with his family by his side at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Doug was born March 18, 1944 in Manitowoc, WI. He was the son of the late Donald and Anita Kassner Larson. Doug attended Lincoln High School from where he graduated. He retired from Imperial Eastman Corporation after 35 years of employment . Doug also worked for WCUB Fishing Machine, Manitowoc Parks and Recreation Department, and the Rollaire Skate Center. He was a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fishing, member and past board of directors member of the Hemophilia Outreach Center where he donated his time at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI selling merchandise to help raise money to help people with hemophilia. On December 27, 1962 he married Janice Berg in Michigan.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Janice; four children: Todd (Denise) Larson; Tammy (Gary) Robinson; Terri Larson; Tricia (Craig) Farley, all of Manitowoc, WI; five grandchildren: Morgan, Benjamin, Wyatt, Malachi and Cynthia; one brother: Dennis (Nellie) Larson, San Jose, CA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Joan and Elroy Krueger, Manitowoc, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Anita Larson; one sister: Janis Tess; two nephews: Russell and Robert Tess.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Staude. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m.
Due to a member of the family having allergies with flowers the family requests memorials to a memorial fund which is being established in Doug's name. Online condolences to the family can be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
