May 14, 1938 – March 16, 2018
Douglas M. Maigatter, age 79, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
Doug was born on May 14, 1938 in Two Rivers. He was the son of the late Eugene "Mike" and Dorothy Wolfe Maigatter. Doug attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1956. He was employed with the Aluminum Specialty and then with Manitowoc Company for 43 years. On May 16, 1987 he married Barbara Wisnowski in Manitowoc. Doug was a runner for many years in his 40's and 50's and participated in running events around the state of Wisconsin. He loved the Green Bay Packers and following NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of almost 31 years: Barbara; two sons: Patrick Maigatter, Cleveland, WI; Shaun Maigatter, Ansbach, Germany; two step sons: Jeffrey (Patty) Shimek, Manitowoc; Steve Shimek and his significant other, Tracey Michels, Manitowoc; one brother: John (Louise) Maigatter, Manitowoc; one sister: Janis (Rickey) Boldt, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Tasha Shimek, Cole Shimek, Callie Shimek, Sascha Maigatter; two great grandchildren: Ashton and Karma Schuh; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene "Mike" and Dorothy Maigatter; one brother: Paul Maigatter; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ray and Dolores Wisnowski; and one niece: Sharon Drobnack.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Alan Boeldt with cremation to take place after the service at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
