Obituary

Earl Herbert Boettcher, age 91, a resident of Manitowoc, left the struggles he endured in this world to be with his Savior in Heaven on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Earl was born on February 23, 1924 in the Town of Wayne in Washington County, WI to the late Elmer and Elsie Abel Boettcher. Earl was baptized on March 23, 1924 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allenton and was also confirmed there on March 21, 1937. On May 24, 1947, Earl married Irene Trott at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allenton. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2015. Earl served his country, inducted on May 30, 1944 into the United States Army, was wounded on January 6, 1945 in France, and honorably discharged on March 14, 1946. Earl was privileged to have participated in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Earl was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Throughout the years, he served in various capacities for churches of which he was a member, serving as chairman a total of 15 years for three churches. Earl always gave 110% to his family helping in any way he could. Faith was evident in all he did, letting it shine to all that knew him.

Survivors include Earl's son: Donald E. (Sharon) Boettcher, Golden, CO; daughter: Kristine A. (James) Carolfi, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Carrie (Frank) Digironimo, Tammy (Mark) Kaiser, Kelly (Jeremy) Fischer, and Jeremiah (Katie) Carolfi; eight great grandchildren: Sierra, Dagney, Anthony, Benjamin, Carmen, Colten, Jacob, and Cade; also other relatives and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to take place at West Bend Memorial Park at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Earl's name to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
