Edward Vetting, age 77, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 141 Raceway in Maribel while watching the sport he loved.

Ed was born on March 15, 1940 in Manitowoc to the late Herbert and Mabel Tomchek Vetting. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Ed had been employed at Manitowoc Public Utilities for 30 years until his retirement in 1997. On April 5, 1985, Ed married Linda Meyers in Manitowoc. He was a member of Maribel Sportsman Club, Viking Bow and Gun Club, Manitowoc Fish and Game, Whitetails Unlimited, Manitowoc Chiefs Club, and was a volunteer for the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Auxiliary. Ed was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed going to races, hunting, trapshooting, camping at Devil's River, and spending time with his family and friends.

Ed is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda; six children, Kraig Vetting, Kristi (Mike) Tuesburg, Kim (John) Licht, Kelli (Marc) Nienhaus, all of Manitowoc, and Paul (Rachelle) Meyers, Colombia, MO, and Brian (Becki) Meyers, Menominee, MI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry (Pat) Vetting, Wayne (Jean) Vetting, and Larry Vetting, all of Manitowoc; also other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mabel Vetting; infant brother, Robert; daughter, Kari Vetting; grandson, Kasey Herrmann; and the mother of his children, Judi Hablewitz.

A Life Celebration Social will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. A prayer service will be led by Deacon Alan Boeldt at 7 p.m. to conclude the Life Celebration Social. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
