Elaine M. Hartl, age 92, a resident of North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, formerly of 2021 Markham Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Monday morning, October 12, 2015 at the care center.

Elaine was born on May 20, 1923 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late George and Pauline Kowalski Karl. Elaine was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1941. She was employed as a secretary for Manitowoc Engineering and later as a secretary for the Manitowoc City Mayor's Office from where she retired in 1986. On May 10, 1947 she married Reuben Hartl at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1988. Elaine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter: JoAnn Hartl, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Pauline Karl; husband: Reuben; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Michael Warden with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. Following the funeral services at the church there will be a luncheon held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
