Emily T. Singer, of the Gardens at Felician Village, Manitowoc, entered eternal life early Friday morning, January 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village.
Emily was born on April 28, 1930 at Phillips, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Rosalie Lisak Foytik. She grew up in Phillips and attended Mt. Hope Elementary School. She had been employed at Holy Family Hospital and St. Mary's Home working in the laundry department. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. On February 28, 1954 she was married to Viggo Madsen. He preceded her in death September 1971. She later married Anthony Singer on February 1, 1979 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death June 23, 1994.
She is survived by two children: Carl (Ruth) Madsen, Wauwatosa, WI; Karen (Ellery) Gulbrand, Green Bay, WI; seven grandchildren: Tammy (Todd) Anderson; Tracey (Neil) Brown; Tim (Mari Jo) Gulbrand; Jessica Madsen; Nathan Madsen; Phillip (Julie) Madsen; Melissa Madsen; two step grandchildren: Bob and Laurie Mahlik; eight great grandchildren: Bryton Gulbrand; Jaryd Bott; Heather Brown; Hailey Brown; Aric Brown; Kyra Brown; Dane Anderson; Caleb Anderson; one great great grandson: Benjamin Dartman; two brothers: Tony (Jean) Foytik, Oakbrook, IL; Emil (Frances) Foytik, Phillips, WI; two sisters: Marie Gallyagly, Chicago, IL; Ann Foytik, Phillips, WI; two sisters-in-law: Violet Foytik, Phillips, WI; Lila Foytik, Sturgeon Bay, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Rosalie Foytik; first husband: Viggo Madsen; second husband: Anthony Singer; four brothers: Joe (Marge) Foytik; Frank (Leona) Foytik, Jim Foytik and John Foytik; one sister: Francis (Frank) Walsh; one brother-in-law: Hugh Gallagly.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 to conclude the visitation lead by Deacon Paul Kieffer. The visitation will continue at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
