Esther Neubert, age 101, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the care center.

Esther was born on April 24, 1909 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Emma Zeddies Meissner. Esther had been employed as a cook at Cape Cod Restaurant and also at Stocks Supper Club. On June 7, 1950 she married Elmer W. Neubert at Menominee, Michigan. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1989. Esther was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son: Thomas (Susie) Neubert, Leesville, LO; one step son: Lee (Charlene) Neubert, Manitowoc, WI; one daughter: Jacqueline Schaefer, Two Rivers, WI; one step daughter: Gayle Rosowski, Hartford, WI; 4 grandchildren,6 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Elmer; eight brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th Street, Manitowoc with Rev. David Rosenow officiating. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to First German Ev. Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for all of the love and care that was given to Esther while she was under their care.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
