Obituary

Ethel L. Sieker, age 93, died Friday, September 25,2015, at River Woods Place, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness. She was born September 28, 1921, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Louis J. and
Anna (Mueller) Bull and was married to Carl Sieker January 24, 1942.

Ethel was educated at First German Evangelical Lutheran School and graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1939. She was employed in the optometry office of Dr. Andrews. She later worked for the Boston Store and it's successor, the Johnson Hills Co. She also was employed at Acme Institute of
Technology in Manitowoc.

She accompanied the McKinley School Glee Club and youth choirs at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Manitou Council of Girl Scouts of America. An avid golfer, Ethel belonged to the women's associations of Lincoln Fields and Fox Hills golf clubs.

Survivors include three daughters: Joyce (Jon) Teske, Olney, MD; Carla (Robert) Krist, Sister Bay, WI; Jane Breitwisch, Marion, IA; and one son-in-law, James Johanek, Manitowoc, WI. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Joel (Christine) Teske, Woodbine, MD; Joellyn (Michael) Walsh, Mt. Airy, MD; Kristy Johanek, Manitowoc, WI;
Michael Johanek, DePere, WI; Dan Krist, Buffy Krist, and Robert Krist, Sister Bay, WI; Gidget (Joel) Schauske, Sturgeon Bay, WI; Sheryl (Justin) Stine, Lincoln, NE; David (Michelle) Breitwisch, Cedar Rapids, IA; twelve great grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, one step-great-great-granddaughter, one sister-in-law,
Phyllis Olson, Manitowoc; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, and daughter, Gail Johanek; son-in-law, Ronald Breitwisch; two brothers, Harry and Carl Bull, and four sisters, Florence Schmill, Marion Mazanet, Dorothy Korte, and Lucille Raduenz.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. Rev. Zachary DeArmond will officiate. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Following the memorial service, burial of Ethel's cremated remains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of River Woods Place and Aurora at Home Hospice Care for the care and compassion given to Ethel. They would also like to thank neighbors on Camden Court, Manitowoc, and son-in-law, James Johanek, for their on-going visits and support during Ethel's residency at River Woods Place.
