Obituary

Florence A. Busse, age 92, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life with family by her side on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Laurel Grove Assisted Living.

Florence was born on December 28, 1931 in Fond du Lac to the late George and Eva (Nommensen) Snowden.  After attending Lincoln High School, she completed her seamstress certification from Manitowoc County Normal.  Florence worked many jobs in her life, including selling children's clothing, waiting tables, selling carpeting at Sears, but most of her working career was spent as an account executive at various radio stations in the Lakeshore area.  She had volunteered for the Manitowoc County Fair Boards where she spearheaded the efforts to bring remote radio broadcasts to the fair.  Florence was proud to have brought WELS recorded church services, God's Word Our Heritage, to local radio in the Lakeshore area.  She enjoyed spending time gardening, but above all, being with her children and grandchildren. She also never missed a good Packer game. In her younger days she also was an avid cross country ski enthusiast.

Survivors include Florences two sons, Terry (Anne) Busse, Manitowoc, and Mark (Anna) Busse, Oshkosh; one daughter in-law Tina Busse; eight grandchildren, Bobbi Lee Pelnar and her fiancé, Tony, Jason (Kristina) Busse, Christina Busse, Virginia (Mike) Meyer, Austen (Krysta) Busse, Samuel (Andrea) Busse, Sarah (Lee) Fischer, and Kimberly (Brian) Langolf; 13 great grandchildren; four siblings, Terry Snowden, Madison; Eva Niquette, St. Nazianz; Jim Snowden, Jacksonville, FL; and Alice "Punk" Hartlaub, Naperville, IL; also other relatives and friends.  Florence was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eva Snowden; the father of her children, Delmar Busse; two sons, Michael and Dean Busse; along with in-laws and nephews.
