Florence "Flossie"
Louise Luecker
February 23, 1933 – December 29, 2020
Florence "Flossie" Louise Luecker, age 87, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Flossie was born on February 23, 1933 in Manitowoc to the late Edwin and Adeline (Hinz) Luecker. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1951 and began her working career at Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company (Mirro) and ended it in the bookkeeping department at First National Bank. Flossie had three great loves: family and friends, church affiliation and the Manitowoc community. She was known as the family historian due to her talent for remembering key dates and genealogy. Flossie took pride in being an aunt, great-aunt and great great-aunt. She enthusiastically welcomed each new addition to the family tree. Flossie enjoyed the company of good friends. She was well aware of what was happening in the Manitowoc area and looked forward to the midday and evening local news. Flossie contributed to the community through volunteer work at Habitat for Humanity, Manitowoc County Department of Human Services, Meals on Wheels, and First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed baking – especially at Christmas time, and often donated baked goods to local charities and fund-raising events. Flossie was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc where she was in the choir for decades. Flossie later joined Grace Congregational Church of Christ in Two Rivers.
Survivors include six nephews, three nieces, their spouses, numerous great and great great-nieces and nephews; also special friends, Cheryl Ellerman and Jean Gunzel. In addition to her parents, Flossie was preceded by her brother, George Luecker; and two sisters, Dorothy Fell and Marian Turk.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date and will be announced in the Herald Times Reporter and on the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home website.
