Florian "Lampy" Hill, age 91, of 2140 Herman Road, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday evening, May 17, 2015 at his residence.

Florian was born December 19, 1923 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Marshall and Cecelia Hill. Florian was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1943. From 1943 to June 3, 1945 he was a Seaman with the United States Coast Guard. Florian was a lifelong resident of Manitowoc. He was employed for many years with Manitowoc Shipbuilding, then worked at Kelvinator Company and for the last 19 years of his working career Florian was employed with Manitowoc Equipment Works from where he retired in 1986. Florian was a 30 year member of the Local Union #516 International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. On April 24, 1954 he married Lorraine Steffen in Manitowoc. He enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Bucks and especially the Green Bay Packers. Florian loved working in his yard and taking care of his flowers.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Lorraine; three daughters: Patsy (Don) Eichhorst, Reedsville; Ruth (Duane) Logerquist, Manitowoc; Nancy (Mike) Zahorik, Manitowoc; two sisters: Betty (Harold) Daugs, Manitowoc; Pat Lukas, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Marshall and Cecelia Hill; two brothers: Juneau Hill and Emil Hill; one sister: Grace Hill; one grandson: David Eichhorst; and one great grandson: Aaron Schweigert.

Graveside services for relatives and friends will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
