Obituary

Frances H. Rettinger, age 82, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Monday morning, January 12, 2015 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village in Manitowoc with family by her side.

Frances was born July 26, 1932 in Antigo, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel Standiford Novak. Frances was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1950. She continued her education at the Columbia School of Nursing in Milwaukee graduating with her degree in nursing in 1953. Frances was employed at Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc for many years. On June 19, 1954 she married Wolfgang "Bud" Rettinger in Antigo. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1998. Frances was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in the church choir, delivering CD's to shut-ins for the church, and helping with the Ladies Aid. Frances volunteered at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, delivered Meals on Wheels, was active with the Manitowoc Senior Center and enjoyed going to the Capitol Civic Center with friends.

She is survived by her children: Karen (Guy) Strzyzewski, Manitowoc, WI; Linda (Scott) Tegelman, Whitelaw, WI; Tom (Brenda) Rettinger, Francis Creek, WI; Jerry (Sally) Rettinger, Manitowoc, WI; seven granddaughters: Kristin, Heather, Ashley, Katie, Sarah (Zach), Rachel, and Haley; four great grandchildren: Jordon, Taylor, Sam, and Jax and little baby due in August 2015; one sister: Lorraine O'Brien, Antigo, WI; brother-in-law: Alvin (Virginia) Rettinger, Antigo, WI; sister-in-law: Patricia Rettinger, Bryant, WI; her faithful companion: Skeeter; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Hazel Novak; husband: Wolfgang "Bud" Rettinger; two brothers: Maurice "Red" Novak and John Novak.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Zachary DeArmond with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
