Francis A. Partyka, age 97, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at St. Mary's at Felician Village.
Francis was born on August 29, 1918 in Nebraska to the late John and Anna Gwisdak Partyka. On July 15, 1942, Francis enlisted with the United States Army and served overseas in World War II. During his tour of duty, he received two Bronze Battle Stars with ribbons. After being honorably discharged on January 11, 1946, Francis returned to the Chicago area where he was employed as a clerk with the United States Postal Service.
Survivors include distant relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Anna Partyka; and four sisters: Mary Ann Partyka, Helen Partyka, Bernice Partyka and Sister Mary Septemia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Blessed Angela Chapel at Felician Village, 1635 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Foley with burial to take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Chicago at a later date.
