Obituary

Garfield A. Mahnke, age 73, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Garfield was born on April 19, 1945 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Marcus and Verona Seehawer Mahnke.  Garfield attended Manitowoc Lutheran High School.  He enjoyed reading and fishing.

He is survived by one brother: Eugene (Terri) Mahnke, Ocean Springs, Mississippi; one sister:  Janet (Glenn) Schwalbe, Manitowoc; nieces and nephews to include:  Trudy (David) Hollub, Glenn (Tami) Schwalbe, Laurie (Charles) Rathsack, Mark (Sandy) Schwalbe, Andrea Schwalbe, Chris (Rochelle) Schwalbe, Cindy (Ed) St. Amant, and Mindy Mahnke; along with other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Verona Mahnke.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Benjamin Schaefer officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.  Cremation has taken place at the Harrgian Parkside Crematory and Chapel.  Burial of the cremains will be at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.  Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
