Gary L. Rodewald, age 61, of 928 North 10th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Friday morning, May 27, 2011 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Gary was born on May 9, 1950 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was the son of Theown Illig Rodewald Dondlinger and the late Hilbert Rodewald. Gary attended Lincoln High School graduating with the class of 1968 and then continued his education at the Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, WI. He then enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany and Greece. After his honorable discharge Gary returned to Manitowoc and became employed with Manitowoc Cranes.

He is survived by two sons: Matthew Rodewald, Eau Claire, WI; Michael Rodewald, Manitowoc; four daughters: Nicole (Adam) Lau, Manitowoc; Michelle Rodewald, Manitowoc; Ashley Rodewald, Manitowoc; Amber Rodewald, Green Bay, WI; two grandchildren; his mother: Theown Dondlinger, Manitowoc; four brothers: Alan (Kay) Rodewald, Two Rivers, WI; Mark Dondlinger, Manitowoc; Jay (Michelle) Dondlinger, Manitowoc; Todd Dondlinger, Sheboygan, WI; one sister: Lisa (Karl) Baryenbruch, Newton, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Hilbert Rodewald; one brother: Dale Rodewald; one sister: Ann Marie Dondlinger.

Private memorial services for the family will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Ann Unertl, Lay Minister/Parish Nurse from First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Burial will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Knollwood Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
