Obituary

Genevieve M. Wagner, age 92, of 929 South 31st Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday afternoon, August 31, 2011 at her residence.

Genevieve was born December 17, 1918 in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Anton and Mary Schnell Schneider. On June 15, 1940 she married Mark H. Wagner in the town of Meeme. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1983. Genevieve was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the St. Clare Society. In past years she had been an active and a long time member of former Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law: Stanley and Suzanne Wagner, Hiles, WI; Michael and Melissa Wagner, Sturgeon Bay, WI; Gregory and Jenifer Wagner, Naperville, IL; Jeffrey and Kate Wagner, Beaver Creek, OH; four daughters and two sons-in-law: Patricia Korlesky, Manitowoc, WI; Frances Ledet, Manitowoc, WI; Ann and Paul Sonderegger, Cornell, WI; Karen and Gregory Hanson, Madison, WI; fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one daughter-in-law: Sherry Wagner, Milwaukee, WI; two sisters-in-law: Agnes Wagner, Sheboygan, WI; Petronella Schneider, Manitowoc, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Anton and Mary Schneider; husband: Mark in 1983; one son: Ramon in 2005; two sons-in-law: Richard Korlesky in 2003; Robert Ledet in 2009; four brothers, three sisters and one infant sister.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Daniel Felton with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials to be directed to a memorial fund being established in Genevieve's name.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Holy Family Memorial Hospice for the special care provided to Genevieve in the past two months and also to Dr. Gary Schmidt and his staff for all of their help and support.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
